THE WALL STREET JOURNAL (U.S).

Internships are aimed at undergraduates or recent graduates who intend a career in journalism. To apply for this internship online, please go to www.dowjones.com/careers, click the Search For Jobs link to the right and type the number 090264 in the Job Number field. There applicants can create a profile and upload their cover letter, resume and six to eight writing samples. These items should all be copied and pasted into one long word document for easy uploading to your profile. We will select about 10 interns for the summer 2010 program. The selection process is highly competitive and most of those chosen have had prior internships with other newspapers as well as extensive experience on a campus newspaper. The internships are for ten-week periods in June, July and August. The pay is $700.00 a week.

The screening process puts heavy emphasis on clips and journalistic experience. Only the applicants who are selected for final consideration will be interviewed. We will complete the selection process by the end of December.

WSJ.com is seeking three summer interns with strong multimedia skills and a keen desire to work online. Candidates will be paired with and mentored by editors in a newsroom environment, producing sections of the site, building or designing interactive graphics, working in Flash or shooting and editing photos and video. Over the course of 10 weeks, interns will also get the chance to showcase their talents through project work and further develop their skills.

Candidates must have prior experience or a demonstrated interest in news and the ability to work under constant deadline pressure. Those seeking production internships should be comfortable working with content-management system software and have at least basic HTML skills. Candidates for graphics, photo or video internships will be tested in their knowledge of development languages and editing software in relevant areas.

Applicants for summer 2010 internships must have graduated from college or a Master's program or be slated to receive a degree between December 2009 and May 2010. Please also supply links to your portfolio of online work.

The pay is $700 a week, with internships running for 10 weeks from early June through August. The selection process is highly competitive and most of those chosen have had prior news internships as well as extensive experience with on-campus media. Heavy emphasis is placed on journalism experience. Only applicants selected for final consideration will be interviewed.
