Internships Summer 2010
Interns with Dow Jones Newswires work closely with reporters and editors to deliver prompt, accurate reporting of business and financial news. During the 10-week program, interns write market commentary and forward-looking features, analyze market data and generally hone their journalistic skills by working with the various news teams to cover the financial markets.
Applicants must have the ability to work in a fast-moving, sometimes stressful environment with extremely tight deadlines. Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and an excellent command of written and spoken English are a must. Working knowledge of financial markets is helpful but not required. The pay is $700 a week.
The selection process is highly competitive and most of those chosen have had prior internships with other newspapers as well as extensive experience on a campus newspaper. Heavy emphasis is placed on journalism experience and clips. Only the applicants selected for final consideration will be interviewed.
To apply, go to www.dowjones.com/careers, click “search for jobs” and find the internships using the job IDs below or search with the keyword “intern.”
