Kelly E. Leach
Senior Vice President of Strategy
Dow Jones & Company, New York

Kelly Leach is the senior vice president of strategy for Dow Jones & Company, a role she has held since February 2011. Prior to being named to her current position, she was the general manager of the Wall Street Journal and was responsible for the business of the Journal in print. Ms. Leach oversaw the successful launches of the Journal’s Greater New York section, the expansion of the Weekend section and the expansion of WSJ. magazine.

Ms. Leach also served as the vice president of business management for The Wall Street Journal. In this role, Ms. Leach was the point person for business initiatives that cut across departments at The Wall Street Journal franchise. In 2008 she oversaw the successful global launch of WSJ. Magazine.

Previously, Ms. Leach had been the vice president of strategy and planning for the Consumer Media Group, a unit of Dow Jones & Company that includes the company’s Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch and Barron’s print and online operations. In this position she led the development of a transformation strategy to accelerate growth and profitability of the company’s consumer-facing businesses.

In January 2005 Ms. Leach was named vice president of strategy and development for the Consumer Electronic Publishing (CEP) division of Dow Jones & Company. In this role, she led the strategic planning function for the group and oversaw The Wall Street Journal Radio Network and MarketWatch Radio operations.

Ms. Leach also served as director of strategy and planning for CEP. While in that role, she worked on the company’s acquisition of MarketWatch, Inc. in 2004 and subsequently led the project to integrate the MarketWatch businesses into Dow Jones.

Ms. Leach joined Dow Jones in 2003 from the Time Inc. division of Time Warner, where she served as manager of marketing and business development for Time.com, Time Magazine’s website. Earlier, she spent five years working in market research, first at 20/20 Financial Research in Nashville, Tennessee, and then at Firstar Corporation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Ms. Leach received a bachelor's degree from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
